Electric Utility Lineman Program

Qualified workers in this field are in demand. This 16-week, hands-on course is taught by instructors with lineman experience and specialized education.

Leadership Series

Leadership I, II, and III offer a strong foundation in leadership style and management skills. Each class is unique, yet together builds a stronger model for leadership development.

Commercial Driver’s License Training (CDL)

Manufacturing Skills Basic Training

Training topics include: Workplace Ethics & Employer Expectations, Quality Management, Computer Application Technology, Industrial Math, Blueprint Reading & Precision Measurement, OSHA 10-hour Safety, and Forklift Operation; Local companies will interview participants who successfully complete training.

Welding

Learn about basic MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding and safe work practices used at local industries.

Medical Office Assistant

Learn how to keep a physician’s office or clinic running efficiently in this 15 week class. Medical Office Assistant will maintain patient’s records; coordinate collection and preparation of operating reports such as time and attendance. The class will meet 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Cost $350.

Medical Billing & Insurance

This 16 week class will introduce students to health insurance and reimbursement. Students will learn principles of medical billing related to proper claim form preparation, submission, and payment processing, and the follow up process. The class will meet two days per week, Mondays and Wednesday, from 5:30pm – 7:30 pm. Cost $345.

Medical Terminology & Anatomy/Physiology

This 16 week course introduces the student to the medical terminology used in the medical coding and reimbursement profession and covers medical terminology from a coder’s perspective. This course would be valuable for anyone preparing for a career in any non-clinical medical profession. This class is not for college credit. Cost: $200.

Medical Coding

This 16 week course introduces students to the fundamentals of medical coding. This class will teach you the guidelines to use the appropriate codes and how to utilize your coding books. Cost: $400.

Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technicians are sought-after professionals in pharmacies located in hospitals, drug stores, doctors’ offices and grocery stores. This 16 week class will prepare you to take the Pharmacy Technician certification exam, ExCPT. Cost $340.

Hospitality Academy

If you are interested in working in a hotel or casino, good news. The Hospitality Academy is for you. MDCC Capps Center Hospitality Academy will include training for restaurant servers, front desk representative, kitchen cooks, guestroom attendants, and maintenance. This 10 week course will include customer service, soft skills, and ACT Career Readiness Certificate exam test prep training and job training. At the end of the course you will earn a certificate from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. Classes will be held at the Capps Center. Class days and times vary depending on the job you choose.

Three WorkKeys assessments resulting in a nationally recognized credential that gives employers and job-seekers a standard measure of workplace skills.
